How We Give Back
At Vector BioMed, innovative solutions isn’t our only goal. Impact is. We were founded with a dual mission: to accelerate access to life-changing gene therapies and to do our part to ensure that those therapies reach patients everywhere, not just those who can afford them.
Vector BioMed is the first company originated by Caring Cross, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to expanding global access to advanced medicines. Together, we’re working to make cures, locally, sustainably, and with scale in mind.
As a public benefit corporation, Vector BioMed supports development programs for underserved populations, including patients in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Through this commitment, we help Caring Cross and its partners bring next-generation lentiviral vector-based therapies to communities that would otherwise be left behind.
Because while gene therapy is transforming medicine, access remains one of the world’s biggest challenges:
In the U.S., only 1 in 4 eligible patients currently receive CAR-T cell therapies.
In low- and middle-income countries, that number drops to less than 1 in 100... and, that's unacceptable.
We’re working to change that. We believe that sustainable access requires partnership, not charity. That’s why our team actively works with:
Hospitals, health systems, and related consortia that want to establish local manufacturing capacity
Biotech innovators that require affordable and scalable vector solutions
Nonprofit and academic organizations developing therapies for underserved communities
