General Overview:
Vector BioMed is a state-of-the-art contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) specializing in best-in-class lentiviral vectors. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and assisting in the preparation of financial reports. Key Responsibilities:
- General Ledger Accounting: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of transactions.
- Month-End and Year-End Closures: Assist in closing processes, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and supporting financial statement preparation.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing internal and external financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Inventory: Enter inventory costs. Run standard cost valuations.
- COGS: Calculate and prepare COGS journal entry monthly.
- Revenue Recognition: Calculate and prepare Revenue Recognition journal entry monthly.
- Fixed Assets: Manage and reconcile Fixed Assets monthly.
- Audit Support: Provide necessary documentation and explanations during internal and external audits.
- Other: Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (NetSuite preferred) and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.).
- Knowledge: Understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze financial data accurately.
